Pantheon

The Pantheon of Shattered Sun is a complex and diverse entity. In the past, this land was home to countless gods who once roamed the planet, influencing nations and even inciting conflicts among mortals for their own entertainment. However, everything changed during the Sundering War, a pivotal moment in the Pantheon's history. The Herald of Stars, the first of his kind, orchestrated a conflict that pitted the gods against each other, mirroring the turmoil they had sown among mortals.

As a result of this war, the True Gods became divided into three factions. The Kelnar, led by Raek, and the Va'er, led by Nayest, clashed over the fate of both the gods and mortals, while the Unseen, led by Whinharim, sought to mediate and bring about peace. The Fell Gods were branded as heretics for attempting to usurp the True Gods, while the Blind Gods quietly amassed power in preparation for their own invasion.

The war that ensued was protracted and brutal, ultimately reshaping the landscape of Varian and culminating in the cataclysmic Shattering of the Sun, which led to the demise of most of the gods. This left the land drenched in Ichor and inhabited by Titans, with only the Major gods surviving, thus earning them their distinctive title.

The Title given to the gods who made peace with the Primordial Dragons Tiamat and Bahamut, and who hold a Divine Spark the symbol of Creation. You probably follow one of these gods as they are the most widespread religion. These are the Major gods to survive the shattering. Each cleric of a True God houses a fraction of their gods Divine Spark in them as a conduit for magic. The true gods are still split into the three factions from the Sundering War of the Kelnar, Va'er, and Unseen.

These are the Minor Gods that fell during the Sundering War and Shattering. You might follow one of the dead gods, though your religion is much smaller than that of the True Gods. Your deity's influence barely lives on, hanging onto the undeath found within their scattered Ichor Spring, or even as a Titan, the undead corpses of minor gods roaming the land on instinct alone. Your religion is small, no more than a cult with the goal of your gods revival.

True Gods

Dead Gods

Fell Gods

The Fell Gods, or Rulers as they are also known, are a special existence. They do not house a Divine Spark at all. Unlike the True Gods, who ascended to divinity through the power of primordial dragons, the Fell Gods completed their ascension with their power alone. They created an Abyss so deep and vast that they merged with a part of reality itself, becoming the living embodiment of their domain. The True Gods and their followers view them as dangerous and heretical. Thoguht he Unseen are known to work with them and even be friends with some Fell Gods.

The Blind Gods are barely considered Gods by the denizens of Shattered Sun. These are creatures from outside reality that wish to invade into these realms. They are unable to partake of creation but are fascinated by it. Some hate creation and wish to destroy it all, while others wish to consume parts of creation, and others still want to create something in their own twisted wat by distorting reality into a new form. Very few worship the Blind Gods and if others found you they would see you as dangerous and view you with distrust.
