Hrythen the Eternal Hunger
Name:
Hrythen
Type:
True God, Archdevil
Domain:
God of Sorrow, Lust, Hubris, and Trickery
Information:
Hrythen is the first of the Archdevils and Lord of Averix, the three hells. During the second plague, the gods could not protect both the spiritual realms and the physical ones and were spread too. This is when Hrythen appeared with a deal. If the gods promised to ascend him, to not walk among mortals unless absolutely necessary, and too leave him to his plans. Then he would use the forces of Averix to protect the physical realms. The gods had little choice and so most accepted, though a few did refuse the deal. Hrythen ascended and created the Tieflings as his forces invaded Varian and protected it against legions of the blind gods.
Hrythen is a trickster at heart, but utterly fair. He is the absolute representation of a crossroads demon. Every deal he makes is absolute to the letter of the word. In fact, compared to many of his subordinates he is actually easier to deal with. He respects people with the gall to deal with him and is less likely to twist a pact towards his end, however things still always go his way.
Hrythen has consumed four of the nine primal sins, and it is said he is raising a few other gods in the hopes of stealing the other aspects. Most notable of these is Tormarus the Gilded. Tormarus is Hrythen's best friend, but is also the holder of Greed. Tormarus knows Hrythen plans to kill him and usurp his domain, yet this seems to have only led to a deeper friendship.
