Dwarves were painted into reality by Anatai the Artisan, Goddess of the Forge, Art, Invention, and Craftsmen. Their skin resembles stones and minerals and they all grow beards that resemble stalagmites. These beards are encrusted with gems that form on them which dwarves meticulously chisel away at until they have the correct gemstone and pattern they wish. These gems lose all worth and luster once removed. Due to being living paint dwarves are surprisingly buoyant and are lighter than one would assume them to be due to appearing as solid stone.

All dwarves take on some craft or art to dedicate themselves to as a form of worship towards Anatai.
